About the Survey
IRAPS has been collaborating with the People of Color Sustainability Collective (PoCSC), Sustainability Office, and Environmental Studies department faculty on periodic student surveys about environmental sustainability. This survey of all enrolled UC Santa Cruz undergraduate students covers student views and experiences about environmental sustainability, including participation in organizations and course-based learning about sustainability. Three previous survey rounds have been held in 2016, 2019, and 2022.
This survey has supported a campus-wide project to gain a better understanding of student perceptions of and participation in the environmental sustainability movement on campus. Student feedback through this survey will continue to help the campus to create programming, resources, and opportunities to better address campus needs.
The survey has components including: (1) involvement with sustainability and environmental groups; (2) personal views on sustainability; (3) personal experiences with the environment; (4) campus priorities; (5) course-based learning about sustainability; (6) knowledge and additional feedback related to environment and sustainability.
