Admissions Funnel

Terms/Cohorts: The dataset only includes fall admissions. In the "Admissions Funnel" tab, multiple cohorts can be aggregated. In the other tabs, a selection for one term is required. 

Applicants: Students who have submitted a formal application to attend UCSC.

Admits: Students who have been offered admission to UCSC.

SIRs: Students who accept an offer of admission by indicating their intent to register.

Enrollees: Students who matriculate at UCSC and are enrolled at the census date of their admit term.

Admit Rate: The percentage of applicants who are admitted to UCSC.

SIRed Rate: The percentage of admitted students who submit a “Statement of Intent to Register”.

Enrollment (Yield) Rate: The percentage of admitted students who choose to enroll at UCSC.

Residency: Distinguishes where a student is from (CA Resident, non-resident domestic, non-resident international).

California Resident: Applicants who are residents of California for admission purposes.

Domestic Non-Resident: Applicants who are U.S. residents but not residents of California for admission purposes.

International: Applicants who are not U.S. residents for admission purposes.

URM Status: Underrepresented Minorities (URM) include students who self-identify as African American / Black, American Indian / Alaskan Native, and/or Hispanic / Latino.
